From the breeder’s wife: We came to know Manju and Shashi Ruia only through a common passion for roses. Shashi has a deep love of gardening and roses in particular and has collected a formidable collection in his property in Kodaikanal. After he came to know us, he insisted on getting all our roses available with KSG Roses Bangalore. We wanted to name a rose for his wife Manju who is a lovely charming affectionate person. We found this seedling to have lovely shades of brownish orange, very well formed like a Hybrid Tea, and continuous blooming on a manageable shrub. At the same time we wanted to honour our friendship with Dr Malcolm Manners who teaches in Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida. Though a specialist in citrus, roses are his hobby, and like Shashi and Manju, has collected a very large number of our bred roses in his college garden. So we wanted to name this rose which he had liked very much for him.
