Etoile de Lyon
No rose works harder all year than this one, which produces blooms from early spring through to winter. It has a strong tea fragrance and is very healthy. Although the outer petals sometimes look poor, when the bud opens the saffron yellow petals cover any flaws. The globular, full, open blooms are quite heavy and they may droop on the thin canes. At fiorst glance the buds indicate a Large-flowered Rose because of their long, pointed shape. Easy to establish, especially on its own roots, the vigorous bush will grow in shade or sun, hot or cold weather. One of the many rose named after the famous French center of rose breeding in the nineteenth century, it is quite resistant to all diseases and requires little care.
