Clothilde Soupert, Climbing
Clothilde Soupert Climbing (and shrub) is one of the best polyanthas and one of the oldest. It is sweetly scented with a pretty combination of milky white petals at the edges and pale pink within. The flowers are small and soft, which means that the flower tend to ball in damp weahter and crumple in rain. This climbing form seems to be continuously in flower, like the shrub. It is a vigorous grower and will overtake an arbor quickly. The thorns are few. Tis is one of my favorite roses. The clusters of 3 – 9 flowers make a nice bouquet for the vase.
